Newcastle play Ipswich at home this weekend. Following the two consecutive defeats against Arsenal and Liverpool, you don't have a choice, you must take the maximum points at home.
It's obvious that we can't allow any slip ups at home. We played very well last week in the cup game against Arsenal (1-1) and if we play the same way against Ipswich, I think we'll beat them. With the importance of our remaning games, it will be a shame if we slip up. We still have a lot to play for, and we should play the games with the attitude that we want to win.
What have you been working on this week?.
We had a couple of days off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Even though we had no training, I went to do some work on my own. I did some endurance and abdominal work. If I decide to go and train on a rest day, it's because I know that I need to do so. Which means I go like a big boy to the gym....
Are you doing this work to finish the season on a high?
I know that we don't have a lot of games left before the end of the season and I want to give everything I have until then, I don't want to have any regrets. The end of the season will soon be upon us, and between this league and the World cup, there's still a lot to do.
Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-0 on Tuesday, and thanks to that they are only six points behind you now. Are you starting to look over your shoulders?
We can look behind as well as in front of us, but we should not forget that we are only six points from the leaders Manchester. It's all to play for. To avoid any bad surprises we have to concentrate on our own games before looking at what the others are doing. If we dont work in that manner, then we'll go straight into a brick wall. We have to keep our heads straight and play our football.
What team will be playing?
The usual team, but Dyer should make his comeback. Bellamy is still injured though. Right I have to go to training which starts in a few minutes. Bye.
