Newcastle have a massive game tonight against Manchester, will you be
playing?
No, I am obliged to forfeit the game due to my hip injury. I felt it go late
in the game against Chelsea, in the end I couldn't even kick the ball. I have therefore spoken to Bobby Robson and we decided that I shouldn't take
the risk for tonight's game. I need to rest it a little. I've been carrying this injury for many weeks, and I really need to get rid of it.
When do you hope to be back playing?
Normally, next week to face Leeds, which obviously means I'll miss the Cup
game this weekend.
We imagine that you're hugely disappointed to miss the Manchester game?
Oh yes, but there you go, it's better that I don't play and that way I don't
aggravate my injury. Even though I want to play, I'll sit it out in patience then start back when I'm a 100% and stay that way until the end of the
season. As for the game, it's going to be a tough one, Manchester are on a good run, and if we can leave with a point we will have done well.
Last week Chelsea came to St James' Park and won 2 - 1. Was the victory
merited?
No not really, because we had many chances, the only problem was that we fell on a big Cudicini. He stopped everything. On our side we conceded two
goals due to defensive errors. We didn't really play to our best, and once again I had a quiet game on the left. For me a draw would have been a fair
result.
Did you have a chance to talk to William Gallas?
Yes, we spoke before the game and as usual, we spoke a load of crap
(laughs). He told me that he was very happy at Chelsea. Moreover these idiots lost 4 - 2 against Southampton at home, they're really
useless...!(laughs)
Any movements on transfer front?
No, there's nothing. And are there any transfers in France?
Chapuis has just signed for l'OM (Marseille)
Oh, so that's it then! I don't understand why Rennes let him leave, because
he's a really good player. I wish you a good week.
