Blimey O'Reilly, what a week! And there's us thinking we could allow
ourselves a day or two in the sun...
We lose our Chief Executive, a £10m signing changes his mind, a £6m one
arrives, an old boy returns and then our seemingly blocked Euro path is
bizarrely reopened.
Amid all this, the fixtures see us pitted against the unclean on August
25th - the second anniversary of the mackem game when Ruud got drowned out.
It's never dull here but any excitement is tempered by the turmoil surrounding all of this.
Internal wrangles still divide the club as much as ever, our pre-season is
turned on its head and our walking wounded start revising comeback dates.
Spare a thought for the Gothenburg Tournament folk - they'd already sold
10,000+ tickets before we bailed out.
So, it's Poland or Belgium not Sweden or China. Wherever, we'll be there...
