The absence of
senior players from the squad that played Gateshead on Saturday prompted
call-ups for members of the club's development squad. That in turn
resulted in promotion for several academy lads to the U21s, who were in
action the same day.
Ben Dawson's side participated in a mini tournament at Spennymoor Town's
Brewery Field, consisting of two limited duration matches in quick
succession.
First up was a 30 minute match between the Magpies and Hebburn
Town which ended scoreless.
