Jude Smith
made his club debut following a recent move from East Fife.
The Magpies' second string began their 2019/20 campaign in similar
style, suffering a trio of losses in their first three league games.
Michael Ndiweni and Matty Bondswell were absent due to
suspension, following red cards in United's previous U21 game against
Stoke City.
Newcastle U21s remain pointless after their three PL2
games, sliding to defeat in Norfolk on Sunday.
Elliot Dickman's side found themselves three goals behind after 45
minutes at City's
Colney training centre - after Tyrese Omotoye, Abu Kamara and Tom
Dickson-Peters all found a way past
debutant goalkeeper Jude Smith - who also saved a 30th minute
penalty from Dickson-Peters.
The Magpies introduced Santiago Munoz at the interval and almost
immediately he set up Dylan Stephenson to score. Within ten minutes
though the Canaries had restored their three goal advantage, through
Jaden Warner.
Jay Turner-Cooke converted a 70th minute penalty kick for United
after City's Sean Stewart dismissed for deliberate handball, but that was the
end of the scoring, as former Magpie Alan Neilson saw his City side
collect three points.
