United U23s twice came from behind to claim a point in South West
London on Friday afternoon, in a game that saw nine bookings and one
dismissal.
Tom Allan scored a goal in each half at the London School of
Economics sports ground in New Malden, with the home side reduced to ten men near the end.
Looking to avoid their fourth successive defeat, the Cottagers went in front in the 27th minute when Jean-Pierre Tiehi
headed home. Within a minute though, Allan took Stan Flaherty's pass
and struck from close range.
Fulham regained the lead just before half-time when visiting
goalkeeper Will Brown blocked Sonny Hilton's initial shot, but
couldn't keep out the follow-up from fellow midfielder Sylvester
Jasper.
Josh Scott set up the predatory Allan for his second midway through
the second period and Flaherty then fired agonisingly into the side
netting on 80 minutes after outwitting the home defence.
Home defender Ziyad Larkeche was given a red card in the 89th minute
(reason unknown)
but United couldn't take advantage of their numerical superiority, despite more than five
minutes added time.
