Daly shot. 0-1
Newcastle's second string faced their Huddersfield counterparts in a friendly staged behind closed doors at the John Smith's Stadium on Friday afternoon. Chris Hogg's side went behind in the 16th minute when Matty Daly shot past visiting goalkeeper Dan Langley for the only goal of the game. There was a second U23 appearance for Hebburn Town striker Cedwyn Scott, as his trial period at United continues. The 21 year-old was on familiar territory, having played for Huddersfield's Academy side as a schoolboy. This is the first season that The Terriers have run their
reserve team outside the confines of any league competition, playing
friendly matches instead against various Academy and non-league XIs. |
