Peter
Beardsley:
"We started off really well in the first ten minutes, but the goal
changed the game. It's a strike from nothing, and it's a good strike, very
powerful.
"Freddie (Woodman) was disappointed in himself, and actually told
the lads it was his fault, but I think he's being a bit harsh on himself if
I'm honest, because it was very powerful.
"They slowed the game down after that, and took as long as they could
over everything. It's a shame for their first lad that got injured (Tom
Edwards) so really sad about that, but the other ones, I'm hoping they're
minor for them.
"They obviously slowed the game down to their pace, but we got the goal.
We were outstanding in the second half. There was a good reaction from the
players. Their attitude was good in the first half, but we just lost our way
after the first ten minutes.
"But for the last 45 minutes the game was played in one half, so fair
play to them, they've had a go and that's all we ever ask.
"Callum Roberts scored a great goal, and for me he could have scored an
even better one before that when Sean played him clear - he should have shot.
Your best chance is always your first chance, whether you're Lionel Messi,
Ronaldo or Suarez, and I told him that.
"Up until we scored the goal, the goalkeeper didn't really have a save to
make, for all the possession we had. But we had a right go, and they deserved
at least a draw and probably more.
"It was a 50/50 as to whether to go with Callum in the first half, but we
did think we needed Liam there to give Sadio a bit of help. But in hindsight
we didn't, because Sadio was outstanding.
"When he came in at half time, he asked me if he could stay on. He's been
out for a long time, but he's been amazing with us. He's been outstanding.
He's on a long road back, but he was there at the final whistle saying well
done to the lads, and that means a lot.
"For me, that sums up his character, sums up what kind of person he is,
so fair play to him. He's a great lad."
