It's
now five games without a victory for Peter Beardsley's U21 side following an
incident-packed defeat at the Liberty Stadium on Monday evening.
A bright start by the visitors saw Callum Roberts test home 'keeper Josh
Vickers early on and Luke Charman clip the goal frame with his effort, before
Swansea gained the lead through Jay Fulton.
Charman headed home Jamie Sterry's cross just two minutes later to level the
match, only for City to immediately go ahead again when Owain Jones shot past
Nathan Harker.
Two efforts from Kenji Gorre - the first a penalty - then gave the Swans
a 4-1 lead at half time, United taking off returning defender Curtis Good at
that point after having conceded the penalty.
City's Aaron Lewis was then denied a goal by a combination of Harker and the woodwork before a second spot
kick award for Swansea on 58 minutes,Callum Williams the culprit this time.
However Harker
blocked Gorre's penalty and the follow up to deprive the Dutchman
his hat trick.
Dan Barlaser (who had struck the crossbar seconds before half time) then reduced the arrears after 63 minutes before Jones hammered
in his second of the game within 90 seconds for 5-2.
United then had the final word after a period of pressure resulted in top scorer
Callum Roberts grabbing his eighth of the season with 12 minutes remaining.
