A brace from Callum Roberts and one each from Liam Gibson and
Lewis McNall helped Newcastle's U21s to an impressive away victory on Friday
afternoon.
United struck first in a league game played behind closed doors in windy
conditions at Albion's training ground, Roberts heading in from close range
after Sean Longstaff rounded the 'keeper and crossed.
That was Callum's fourth goal this season and a fifth came six minutes after
the restart, firing a low shot from outside the box into the bottom corner.
Beaten just once in 13 games, Albion responded and levelled thanks to efforts from Tyler Roberts and Kyle
Spence on 54 and 66 minutes, respectively.
The Baggies then missed the chance to go ahead when Josh
Ezewele hit the top of the bar from the penalty spot on 77 minutes, Gibson
shooting home via a post to restore our lead two minutes later.
Having broken his U21 scoring duck against Derby on Monday, McNall then
doubled his tally, squeezing
the ball home from inside the six yard box on 88 minutes.
