SJP closed its doors to tributes on Sunday August 9th and the Leazes End was cleared over the following days, in advance of the first home game of the season on Saturday August 15th.

At the request of Sir Bobby's family, the shirts, scarves and other souvenirs were made available to charities for distribution amongst disadvantaged children in Africa. The floral tributes meanwhile were recycled and made into compost, with proceeds from its sale going to benefit the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
