17 mins Danny Guthrie's through ball penetrated the United, allowing French striker Sinama -Pongolle to round Caig and shoot home 0-1 29 mins Liam Atkin's second-ever
reserve goal came from close range, as he managed to prod the rebound from
Finnigan's effort past the floundering 'keeper Willis 1-1
Tommy Craig said:
A spectacular late strike from Kris Gate kept up the Reserves' unbeaten start to the season at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham. Florent Sinama-Pongolle had given the home side the lead after 15 minutes only for Liam Atkin to get us back on terms just before the break. Former Manchester United youngster Ramon Calliste restored Liverpool's lead on 65 minutes before Gate - who had already struck a post - crashed in an 81st minute equaliser to secure a point. Hugo Viana travelled but did not make it off the United bench, 24 hours before going to Valencia on loan. Biffa Reports |
