To follow.....
Tommy Craig's reserves maintained their 100% record at Morecambe, recording
their third consecutive success over Blackburn at Christie Park on Wednesday.
And in an incident-packed evening, United took an early two-goal lead through Brittain
and Chopra before being pegged back by a less- experienced Rovers side
despite creating a host of chances.
However after Johnson and a Danns penalty had squared it at 2-2, Chopra
converted a Brittain corner from close range just before the break to restore
the lead.
Our two-goal cushion was restored within three minutes of the restart when Ameobi
struck and Chopra then completed his treble shortly after to make it 5-2.
Rovers though replied with the goal of the game as Jemal Johnson blasted his
angled shot past a helpless Harper just before the hour.
Further goals could have followed with both Chopra and Ameobi coming close on a
couple of occasions before Viana struck the crossbar in the 89th minute.
But the Portuguese midfielder had the final word in time added on with our sixth
goal and the ninth of the game, on what was a crazy night in which we could
easily have reached double figures ourselves.
